Elite
Martial Arts was created in 1997 for the purpose of teaching martial
arts as a character development and educational center through the
practice of the martial arts. Additional goals of study include physical
fitness and appreciation of physical culture, discipline, and self
defense proficiency. Elite Martial Arts began by teaching Tae Kwon
Do, but has since expanded to teach Judo, Kali-Kuntao, Karate, Kung
Fu San Soo, Yoga, Pilates and seminar programs. In Addition, there
exists a thriving After-School and Summer Camp program. Elite Martial
Arts Academy is the longest running school in Tarpon Springs and has
produced over 40 black belts. 2007 is Elite’s ten-year anniversary
and we celebrate by continuing our commitment to our students and
their families by providing a safe, friendly and stimulating atmosphere.
Our philosophy is that everyone can benefit from practicing martial
arts, and we invite all to participate and learn along with us.

Ginger
Alemaghides
I have had an interest in martial arts since I was a child. It was
not until my son began Tae Kon Do in 1997 that I actually became involved
in Martial Arts. I have had the privilege of training under Sensei
Andy Mandelos and Si Fu Tom Akers. I became a board member and owner
in 2001 when we decided to reinstate the summer camp and after school
programs. My 20 years experience in childcare and business coupled
with my love of martial arts and yoga made the transition into Elite
Martial Arts a great experience. It has been a wonderful working with
and along side of Andy and my son, Nicholas. It’s an honor to
be the support person to a great team of talented martial artists
who head up their individual programs. My mission at Elite is to see
that each student that enters our programs feels a sense of pride
and accomplishment. I embrace the tenants of the Martial Arts courtesy,
Integrity, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit, and Self Control. It
is my hope that each student takes these tenants with them through
all of their life experiences and is aware of their ability to achieve
all things in life that they truly want.

Andreas
Mandelos
Andreas
Mandelos began his martial arts training in N.Y.C., in 1987 and
has been teaching martial arts for the last 12 years. In 1997, he
founded Elite Martial Arts Academy. Mr. Mandelos has had the privilege
to train under some very distinguished masters and has studied various
martial arts styles. Since 1997, Mr. Mandelos has promoted over
40 black belts, and continues to produce excellent students and
teachers of the martial arts. Mr. Mandelos is a firm believer in
the martial arts and credits his practice as the main
influence in his returning to school to complete an unfulfilled
dream. He is currently working on a double major of History and
Education. Likewise, he believes that one is always a student and
one should be eager to learn and practice, for the purpose of improving
of one’s character. Mr. Mandelos is very proud of all his
students and derives great inspiration and strength from their commitment
to the martial arts. Mr. Mandelos is planning to become a teacher
in the secondary education level, in addition to his continuing
devotion to teaching martial arts.
